Ryan White Part C Programs are required to cap charges to patients based on income.  I developed a simple excel spreadsheet which can be used for that purpose.  It is designed to allow you to input the current federal poverty guidelines and to choose your State.  The user then enters the patients family size and annual income.  The cap is then calculated.  The current upload is for 2009.  The federal poverty guidelines are posted every year here and can be used to update the spreadsheet.  The 2010 rates will be available March 1, 2010.  Upon further review of the Ryan White law it has been determined that family size should not be included in the calculation for caps on charges.  A second spreadsheet is included that limits the calculation just to the individual.
